"We have no family in NC, and knew we would be alone for the birth. As luck would have it, our daughter decided to arrive six weeks early. Our doula, Lara, did so much to help us deal with this aspect so that we did not panic. She was able to spend time with us that the nurse could not. I was most thankful for our doula after the birth. My husband was able to be with our daughter while our doula stayed with me. We really had a wonderful birth experience and having a doula made it that much more special" -- C.O.

"Kristy was a huge help before, during, and after my labor experience. As a first time mom, it was very comforting to have her calm support and encouragement at hand whenever I needed it. I had a very long labor (over 20 hours at the hospital and more at home before that!) and Kristy kept me going the whole time. While she did a great job all around, I think the "little things" she did behind the scenes that I would not have thought of were the most memorable. Cool washcloths, a warm compress for my aching back, keeping my glass full at all times with cool water, and reminding me to breathe are just a few. She takes great pictures, too!
